Hasbrouck Heights and Lodi border the borough to the North, Carlstadt to the South, South Hackensack and Moonachie to the East, and Wallington borough in the West.

Because of its rich history, the borough has a diverse demographic that includes Whites, Black Americans, Native Americans, Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Latinos, among other races.
